
Bill Crider
Bill Crider was the award-winning author of the renowned Truman Smith mysteries. He also wrote Westerns and children’s books, as well as horror fiction under the pseudonym Jack MacLane. His children’s book Mike Gonzo and the UFO Terror won the Golden Duck Award as best juvenile science fiction in 1997. With NBC Today show weatherman Willard Scott he co-authored Murder Under the Blue Skies (1998).
A recipient of the Anthony Award for Best First Novel (Too Late to Die, featuring another of his series characters, Dan Rhodes), Crider wrote over 200 short stories and novels prior to his death in Alvin, Texas, on February 12, 2018.
